Service of Liturgy

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION CONTACT
ALTAR SERVERS These young people, boys and girls, from grades 4 to High School assist the Priest at the Masses and Liturgies of the Church.
ALTAR SOCIETY This group of people do all that is needed to keep the church neat and clean and they decorate for special occasions. Bro. DeSales 410-633-9393
CHOIR We have an adult choir, a children's choir and a bell choir. They enhance our liturgies by their singing and the message of their music. Brian Whaley 410-633-9393
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS These people assist at liturgies in distributing communion. They also take communion to the sick and home-bound, visit area hospitals and nursing homes. Bro. DeSales 410-633-9393
USHERS This group of men and women serve the parish by assisting at the various liturgies of the parish. They keep order in and around the church and help to make the congregation comfortable. They also assist in the Offertory collection.
LECTORS This group of men and women proclaim the Word of God at the weekend liturgies. Fr. R. Poetzel 410-633-9393
LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN Special readings addressed to the children's age level. At the 10:30 AM Mass children leave the church after the opening prayer and return at the offertory.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY A group of men who honor the name of Jesus Christ. They meet once a month. They are active in the parish and have a scholarship fund-raiser for the school. Tony Reina 410-485-1636

JOLLY CLUB For people over 55 years of age, this is a social club that gets together once a week and the members are of various religious faiths. This club has various activities such as dances, bus trips, etc. Members live in the zip code 21224. John Zagraiek

Youth

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION CONTACT
YOUTH GROUP We have dances and get-togethers for the youth of the parish, grades 6-8, so that we can provide a safe and fun place for them to be. Kathleen Reincke 410-633-8423
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION We offer a program to the parish children who go to public schools so that they can become active in faith and have the chance to know God better. Sr. Rita Dorn, SSND 410-633-6256
FATIMA SOCCER ASSOCIATION The Our Lady of Fatima Soccer Association provides children as young as 3-5 years old (mini-kickers) and ages 6 through high school an opportunity to learn and play soccer.  Our teams compete in the Archdiocesan Youth Soccer League (outdoor), the AISL Indoor soccer league and various recreation leagues in the area.  Children from the school, parish, religious education program and surrounding communities and neighborhoods are all welcomed to play. Your child will not only learn the skills to play soccer and progress in the sport, but it is a great opportunity for our youth to make new friends, gain new experiences, challenge oneself, and grow and develop in all aspects of life.

Outreach/Support

ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION CONTACT
PASTORAL COUNCIL This groups provides advice to the Pastor. Co-Presidents Joseph Nichols 410-282-9134 and Jeff Markiewicz 443- 691-8064
PARISH VISITORS This group of people visit the parish sick and the home-bound, up-dates the census and helps to guide people to the right place and contact for any help that they may need
FATIMA FRIENDLY VISITORS/GERIATRICS VOLUNTEERS This group is a part of the parish visitors but they have a special role in the geriatrics building at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, visiting and assisting the Catholic patients at the Sunday Morning Mass provided at the center.
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP This group provides outreach to people who have lost a loved one. Special (6) week groups are offered twice yearly. Monthly support groups are offered except during the summer. Sr. Julianne Hau, MHSH

EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE This group provides outreach to new parishioners, and sponsors these annual events: the "Good Neighbor Breakfast," the parish picnic, and, with the Bereavement Support Group, the November Memorial Mass for the deceased of the parish. Sr. Julianne Hau, MHSH

WORLD APOSTOLATE OF
FATIMA
This is a spiritual group whose goal is to spread devotion to the rosary of Our Lady.
